It just seems so much more relevant today.

I think what’s most relevant is this information (and shitloads similar) has been readily accessible to just about anyone in this part of the world remotely interested in being well informed as to the historical going’s on in washinton et all and if the level of mentality seen frequenting this place seems perfectly capable, then really there’s no other explanation other than pure complacency.

whats even more relevant again is that in spite of this, 350 million americans remain disinterested and asleep at the wheel allowing incompetent dumbfucks such as Bushie jr and his cohorts to conduct their business as they have… and considering the above, why wouldn’t they.

A handful of government officials faced with having to answer to a well informed, intolerant and massive population base the size of amerikuh would undoubtedly be scared shitless to step outta line in fear of having their ass canned if in fact finding themselves under the watchful eye of it’s citizenry… but meh.. that would take work, the likes of which would require participatory government, the likes of which would require a class of people on a much larger scale, able to parse out the documentation and BS these ass fucks crap out, a class of citizenry which quite frankly doesn’t exist and shows no signs of wishing to become manifest…

and what’s even MORE relevant again is whilst you all continue to get all uppity about Prescott’s historical antics…Countries such as China and India along with their over bloated population are busy ramping themselves up with even MORE coal fired plants, energy usage, the likes of which isn’t about to subside anytime soon, the likes of which this poor planet can hardly sustain and afford, the likes of which neither OhBombUs, Shillery or Mc’insane have the wherewithal to do sweet fuck all about it…

so yea.. Prescott and his cohorting with teh Nazi’s ??... “yawn”

Very astute assessment. So then, what can be done about it? Or is it that we’re all simply doomed to hell? Isn’t there some idea or concept out there somewhere that can deliver us from the slow demise inside this mortal coil?

Yeah…and in the meantime, I’m checking out the cost of taking a trip to Europe this summer. Bummer. Looks like I gotta settle for a weekend in a Motel 6 at the coast. Niiiice.

/me gasps for air…

given that me too’s been waiting with baited breath.. suppose I’ll chime in….

So then, what can be done about it? Or is it that we’re all simply doomed to hell? Isn’t there some idea or concept out there somewhere that can deliver us from the slow demise inside this mortal coil?

complex question(s) that…

I’d have to say first of all, looking for “the answer” ? ie: solution ?... may already be challenged or crippled by way of presupposition in the sense that perhaps what one is looking for is in fact something that does not even exist in nature.

If man is in fact nothing more than an animal and is doomed to his apparently inherent and so called predominant behavioral characteristics as in pronounced hostility, greed, narcissism etc, then he is in fact carrying out his functions perfectly according to his design… this would include possessing drives to create and build ( and consistently re-build) civilizations and hierarchical structures so strong over the course of history they’ve in fact now reached global proportions.

given that it’s the left who’s often seen forwarding many of these so called inherently “unchangeable” characteristics of “man” then it also places the far left in something of an awkward position of wishing to somehow “alter” or “overcome” the forces of nature as it applies to man…

so yea, good luck on that… ( disclaimer: I say this in spite of failing to “concur”, quite strongly in fact, with many of the common claims or identifications or observations as seen in the above in regards to “man”, or at least in the “context” they are so often seen being applied.)

then there’s also the idea of man being merely a consequential or accidental “mutation” of evolution and nothing more…

even members who frequent this place who are of strong scientific inclination, dare I say even Snark for instance, might be inclined to disagree with such an “absolutist” or simple minded type of an analysis if we are suggesting there isn’t anything more than that going on here when it comes to evolution, ecological balance et all.

In any case, I will say this. It suggests an unwillingness to face reality in suggesting there’s anything going on here on this planet (or anywhere else for that matter) ... that isn’t under the strict guidance and/or control of nature itself. Man, whatever your “internal constructs” of him might be, subjective and/or otherwise, is in fact as much a product of nature, part and parcel of it as much as anything else, and is guided by the same immutable principles as much as anything else, which have shown themselves to date as being incapable of being “broken”... ever.

I think you have to make friends with that first. Until you do, you’re basically fucked by your own irreconcilable dichotomies and self contradictory presets and/or suppositions…

basically it starts there, and until you get that shit lined up, it’s my opinion you’re pretty much dead in the water…

makes friends with life in it’s “entirety” without prejudice first.. then maybe you can start in on the rest of the shit… and it’s a pretty big maybe, that…

Well said. I totally agree.

I get it. Man is just dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind.

But maybe not. Maybe mankind is capable of controlling its destiny without reverting to the primal urge to always look for the path of least resistance (such as in governance, commerce, finance, defense, etc.)

I think it will take something on the order of the Age of Enlightenment for mankind to escape the shackles of its 20th century mentality.

I don’t know where it will come from or if it will come, but there must be that original thought or concept…along the lines of the discovery of fire or the wheel or the Internet…that can come and change things forever and for the better.

umm well yea, perhaps.. perhaps there’s more to it than just that…

I guess what I’m saying is that in the “larger” scheme of things… what we are seeing is perfectly natural in terms of our current status quo as it applies to this point in time in terms of man’s evolution….

guess I’m also saying that in spite of all the disheartening chaos, confusion, a pronounced inability to “relate” to each other ( as a species) outside of the language of fear and hostility and the inordinate level of “pain” and misery man subjects himself to ( and his environment)... I’m at peace with the functions of nature and it’s general direction…

really, the current status quo makes sense to me and is pretty much represents a must as it stands….

I think if a person could see past where we “are” and where all this might be leading, I sincerely believe there’d be a whole lot less angst, hatred and self righteous persecution towards ideologies which are in direct conflict with one’s own… the qualities of angst, hatred and hostility in general being something there’s certainly no shortage of on this planet, safe to say it’s something we could stand to have a whole lot less of… no matter what one’s justification to uphold more of the same might be
