i enjoy tid bits of information as much as the next guy but i thought that was for the “headlines” section. this isn’t an attack i just think these labour round ups and rebel communiqué are taking away from the article section as they are starting to become more prevalent then the actual articles themselves. this isn’t an article, it shouldn’t go in the article section. let me know what you think.

if the roundups are starting to become more prevalent than other, “real” articles, it’s not because we’re compiling too many roundups, but rather that too few other articles are being submitted to keep things rolling…

i’d like to see a lot more “real” articles, a lot more of them coming from GNN users, and a lot more space between roundups because of them. this isn’t Roundup News Network, after all.

You may have a point. Add to these two roundups, East is East and If you knew…
But I think GNN would be a paler site without the roundups. Just on a pragmatic level. The Article Section would be significantly depleted without them, over half, 28 of the last 50 articles, posted since November 26, were roundups. Without the roundups the Article section would be dominated by pieces from professional columnists from other websites; Norman Solomon, Ben Dangl, Stephen Zunes. Of the 22 non-roundups, 15 were written by such non-GNN professionals.

And the roundups are some of the most popular with visitors to the GNN website.

Full disclosure, I produce If you knew…

Labor news is much better presented as a compiled package, than broken up and posted as individual Headlines. Labor News Roundup is a real resource as presented.
