BP’s greenwashing has been shown to be a load of BS, most spectacularly by the disastrous situation in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

You can figure out what BP is really all about by looking at their treatment of Chuck Hamel, and industry figure who was gathering data from pissed-off employees in Prudhoe Bay about the sorry state of the pipelines and machinery. They hired Wackenhut Security Services to spy on him and set him up – all the Le Carre spy techniques, like putting hidden cameras in hotel rooms and sending attractive young women to try and get him into bed in front of the cameras.

As far as saying “thank you” to corporations who want to ‘go green’, that’s one of the biggest loads of horsie manure I’ve ever heard. The only thing that corporate financiers pay attention to is quarterly profit margins. Everything else is pure propaganda – for example, BP spends more money on it’s greenwashing public relations efforts then it does on it’s so-called ‘renewable energy program’.

What needs to happen is changes in government regulations and fine enforcement that actually make polluting un-profitable – the ONLY thing they’ll ever listen to is the bottom line – and please, please, please don’t tell me that ‘free-market solutions will solve the problem’.

Those buying organic food are comfortable paying the historic premiums because they think that part of their purchase dollar supports a different kind of environmental, animal husbandry and economic justice ethic

A hippie who became a capitalist and now is crying becos the big guy took his moeny away, pathetic…

Honestly I’m taking no-sides here, since a corporation can be green and still be evil (Htiler was a vegan, did you know that?) and these so-called activist are in no better position than the common teen-poser who cries when someone better than him takes his place.

Everything is “so-called” in the HyperT world. Must be confusing.
