Okay, I’ll bite. In this particular case it isn’t clear how the contract was decided, but I have no reason to believe that the Pentagon did award the contract based on ethnicity of the CEO. He could have had ties to insiders in numerous other ways; or it could have been a decision based on price, delivery time, purported quality, or a long-standing business relationship that predates the administration or his CEOship. I don’t see any point in bothering to do the research to find out, all these profiteers are guilty regardless.
My real point was that this sensationalist – “oh my god! they are doing what with war profits?” is silly. This shit is status quo and to be expected.

It’s interesting Sarah Anderson said that Brooks had been super on the DL prior. Other CEOs contacted them to complain when they wrote that report, but Brooks was no where to be found. Journalists complained to her that he was really hard to contact and they were having a hard time finding out much info on him. She joked, now we know why he was so hard to track down. He was busy planning a party all summer. I said, yeah, just accomodating 50 Cent’s entourage is probably like a month of work for a pack of lawyers. I wonder if any of the artists knew about his deal. I’ll try to contact 50 Cent’s people tomorrow, see if they have anything to say. DHB’s PR man never got back to me.

Ya know… when all that controversy was being made public about the poor armor the solders had and the discovery of how unprepared this administration was for the long haul. I read an article about a National Guard unit in Missouri that was being readied to go to Iraq. When the family’s and citizens realized the possible fate of their loved ones due to the poor armament, they organized a drive and collected enough money and a certified local contractor to produce armor for their Hum-vees, and body armor. The Pentagon rejected this offer and sent the troops over there with little or no armor.
So now I know why it was rejected, so this bastard could make his profits… unbelievable profits.
CAUSE & EFFECT; Had Prescott Bush been prosecuted for his war crimes with dealing with the enemy back during WWII, we would not have George W. as president today.

I am getting a sinking feeling here that I was duped again by GNN. I just trashed a CEO, assuming the story was not a hoax. I Googled around and all I find are hundreds of sites with strange names all, anti-war and all referrring to same circular fact set. Even the huffngton,(as she is a cunt, only mildly mainstream) report has pulled its story.
Can someone find a mainstream source. This is not the first time that I was bamboozled by GNN.

“David H. Brooks, the man who laid out $10 million for his daughter’s bat mitzvah celebration, has been under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission since last year.
Brooks gained notoriety in the last couple of weeks when it was revealed he had hired Aerosmith, the Eagles, Stevie Nicks, 50 Cent, Ciara, Kenny G and Tom Petty to play at a party for his 13-year-old daughter this past weekend. Brooks took over the two floors of the Rainbow Room for the event, installing hi-tech sound and light equipment.
Many of the acts are managed by Irving Azoff and Howard Kaufman’s powerful Los Angeles firm. But what reports of the lavish, over-the-top and some might say completely inappropriate party was who Brooks was, or what trouble he’s been in. It’s a lot.
He’s under a major SEC investigation, as I will report in a moment. That’s not all.
His company, DHB, as reported, is a defense contractor that makes bullet-proof vests for the Army. But what published stories did not report was that DHB is now and has been the subject of several class-action suits stemming from, among other things, a government recall of those bullet-proof vests.
In May, the Marine Corps recalled 5,277 combat vests made by a DHB’s subsidiary issued to troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Djibouti because of concerns that they failed a test to determine whether they could stop a bullet.
This occurred six months after DHB announced a $100 million contract with the Defense Department on Dec. 23, 2004. The contract, Brooks said at the time, could be worth as much as $500 million.
Coincidentally, Brooks and the insiders at his company sold off about $200 million worth of DHB stock between Nov. 29 and Dec. 29, 2004. Brooks, according to publicly available filings, sold about $186 million himself, not counting another $50 million in sales that had already been planned.
