An immigration bill has come through the Senate Committee relatively unscathed and Obama is now pushing to get it ‘over the finish line’ according to USA Today. S. 744 would allow current illegal aliens to apply for citizenship and providing new investments into border security.
Section 2, paragraph 1 reads:
The passage of this Act recognizes that the primary tenets of its success depend on securing the sovereignty of the United States of America and establishing a coherent and just system for integrating those who seek to join American society.
