Summary:

It is no longer enough to mumble support for “their” cause. It is no longer enough to “work on your racism.” It is no longer enough to “outreach,” keep up with politically correct nomenclature, or “get educated.” Now is the day to stop the racists and Fascists.

All anti-racist, anti-Fascist voices need to be heard.

Eleven days ago, the Senate was poised to pass legislation that would have initiated the final step toward a Fascist regime in the U.S. Then the legislative juggernaut crashed to a halt, confronted by what may well be the largest series of mass demonstrations ever in the United States.

On Friday, the Senate Judiciary Committee was poised to approve enforcement-only immigration legislation. The following Monday, after a month of protests across the country by people of immigrant-descent and, on Saturday, a million-person Marcha flooding the streets of downtown Los Angeles, all eight Democrats and four Republicans shifted gears and sent a guest-worker and citizenship proposal to the Senate. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist was so irate that he sent his own enforcement-only bill to the floor, with the worst of the provisions of the draconian House proposal, HR 4437.

To make sure the Senate got the message, tens of thousands of students across the nation walked out of class on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday.

What do these immigrants and their children see that long-time U.S. citizens have missed? What does this legislation portend for the U.S.?

The Fascist Conscience

Under Sensenbrenner, the U.S. will build 700 more miles of border wall. Think one and a half times a completed apartheid wall across Palestine

bacchus @ 04/06/06 16:50:00

^ to keep them out or to keep us in? I don’t think HR 4437 will pass, the minutemen and Sensenbrenner are certainly a bit fascist, but I think their kind of thinking is losing ground these days. I might just be misjudging things because I live in the NE where immigration is not a big issue.

bacchus @ 04/06/06 16:53:06

How new, a country of dirty immigrants running from potato famine, or monarchies in europe, now think that THEYRE the legal owners of a country they STOLE, thru genocide, holocaust and ethnic cleansing. and most obvious of all WAR. Wow, i am truly shocked at these immigrants. Our ancestors were here 5 centuries ago, 6 centuries ago, shit even last fuck millenium. Fuck them, they will try to make us seem like “terrorist”. wouldnt Pancho Villa, Che Guevarra, and other legitimate freedom fighters, be considered “Terrorists?” under todays New World Order???
Its an obvious attempt to split the black/latino vote from 30% into a more favorable percentage to the white man. Fuck the powers, United We Will Stand, Seperate our heads will be buried.

uh, the national conscript Nazi army isn’t comparable to a large border security force. What an idiotic comparison

“the final step toward a Fascist regime in the U.S.”
Oh I see, we’ve already abolished and outlawed all opposition and began killing off dissidents, I just haven’t seen it. This article loses legitimacy by making stupid nazi comparisons.

senssensibilityr,

You need to gain a better understanding of our heritage, current economics (Peak Oil) and past economic cycles.

Things are about to take a rapid and unprecedented turn for the worse.

A year from today if this Administration is not sacked and steps taken to prevent a further slide towards all out war in the Middle East, you may not recognize the country in which you will find yourself.

Further militarizing the borders, rounding up and registering aliens and deporting millions of people is not a step towards greater democracy, freedom and human rights.

Have you ever heard of the CCC camps of the 1930’s?

I live less than 20 miles from the Seney Wildlife Recreation Area.

It is a huge federal wildlife reserve, primarily breeding habitat for Canadian geese. The reserve boasts many manmade lakes and dams, miles and miles of canals to transport water from various rivers to form these lakes and ponds.

Prior to all this work, it was a vast nearly impassable swamp. Even today, few venture off the roads or away from the more developed areas.

All the work, the lakes and ponds, the canals dug and built by hand. Pick, shovel and wheelbarrow. The CCC’s did the work. CCC stands for Civilian Conservation Corps.

It was operated by the U.S. Army. To prevent the possibility of revolt and rebellion and fears of communism sweeping the United States after the stock market crash of 1929, during the great depression the federal government launched many huge labor intensive development projects throughout the country.

I can point out several here within 50 miles of my home.

Young men 16 and 17 years of age who dropped from secondary schooling were taken from the cities and shipped to rural areas and provided with minimal housing and usually adequate food and a small monthly stipend for their labor with the requirement that some of this was sent home if they had parents or grandparents to assist with their support.

This was not a true volunteer project, like a peace corps type thing, but was done for the purpose of maintaining political control and civil order in the cities with the soup lines and large numbers of unemployed. Young potential troublemakers found their way to the CCC camps.

Most cleared the land and then planted trees, mostly pine plantations by hand, those that were determined to abscond in this area were said to have been sent to work in the Seney swamp, where the terrain made trying to leave a dangerous proposition.

The remains of these CCC camps are scattered throughout the Upper Peninsula and after the depression and after the beginning of WWII many of these old CCC camps were converted to prison camps for German prisoners of war.

One was within easy walking distance of where I live today, just a mile or so down the tracks called Camp Evelyn and the other in this county was Camp Autrain.

Knowing your past is critical to understanding the possibilities of your future.

Now, if things are about to get truly tough here, and they send the Mexicans back to Mexico and they build a fence that will of course work both ways, who do you suppose is going to be doing all the work these millions of people have been coming here to do because nobody else wants or will do these jobs?

Ever read the Grapes of Wrath?

Sometimes no Peace,

Y’all should check this out

It’s a video of Representative Dana Rohrabacher voicing the brilliant opinion that if we got rid of illegal immigrants, we could force convicts to carry out the fruit harvests.

I suppose we could also put the African American convicts on their own seperate planations to eliminate racial tensions, and have them work in shackles so they couldn’t run away, and hire white guys with muttonchops to supervise them while drinking mint juleps. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?

bacchus @ 04/06/06 19:46:12

^ sorry that link doesn’t work, the real one is here

bacchus @ 04/06/06 19:47:06

Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. They haven’t even got the Mexicans kicked out yet and this guys got it all figured out. Freedom is about to get way more expensive.

The good news is we won’t have all the problems we have today competing with that cheap Chinese prison slave labor. Should put us on a level playing field.

Peace,

GWHunta @ 04/06/06 20:07:10

The NWO bandwagon is still on course. The only difference between Hitler & Bush is that Bush could possibly pull this off due to citizens with short attention spans. An average citizen in a media & TV controlled state will see bad news reported and be like “gee, that’s sad” then, 5 seconds after the report they have forgotten about it.
