Old-fashioned anti-immigrant prejudice always brings out some old-fashioned racists. This time around, they have started claiming that Mexicans can’t assimilate. A sillier idea I’ve never heard. Why don’t they come to Texas and meet up with Lars Gonzales, Erin Rodriguez and Bubba at the bowling alley. They can drink some Lone Star, listen to some conjunto and chill.

In 1983, I was a judge at the Terlingua Chili Cookoff, and my memory of the events may not be perfect — for example, for years I’ve been claiming Jimmy Carter was president at the time, but that’s the kind of detail one often loses track of in Terlingua.
Anyway, it was ’83 or some year right around there when we held The Fence climbing contest. See, people talked about building The Fence back then, too. The Fence along the Mexican border. To keep Them out.
At the time, the proposal was quite specific — a 17-foot cyclone fence with bob wire at the top. So a test fence was built at Terlingua, and the First-Ever Terlingua Memorial Over, Under or Through Mexican Fence Climbing Contest took place. Prize: a case of Lone Star beer. Winning time: 30 seconds.
I tell this story to make the one single point about the border and immigration we know to be true: The Fence will not work. No fence will work. The Great darn Wall of China will not work. Do not build a fence. It will not work. They will come anyway. Over, under or through.

Its not racist you imbecile to enforce this country’s immigration laws. Either you legally immigrate or come to the USA and follow its procedures or you don’t. Illegals come from all over. Unacceptable. Our borders need to be secured. No more drug trafficking, human trafficking, crime, parasitical invaders draining our social services, or threats to our nation are to be tolerated. Sorry I don’t think just letting anyone cross our border is going to make our country better. Think out your moronic opinions before you go into this knee-jerk liberal response.

Just because something is a law doesn’ make it right to enforce that law. You would probably say that it wasnt racist to enforce the fugitive slave act back when slavery was legal in the US. The US government does not own the country anyway, so why is it ok to enforce laws regarding who comes into the US when it is not the governments property to begin with? What next, the government starts telling citizens what people who can enter onto a citizens property and under what conditions?

Your implication that illegal immigrants/illegal immigration is or are the primary cause for any of these things (except for parasitical invaders draining our social services which i will get to) and that they would be reduced if illegal immigration was stopped is stupid and has no basis in reality.
Do you actually think that stopping “illegal” immigration completely (which is impossible) would end or significantly reduce drug trafficking, human trafficking, crime, or threats to the US? People coming to the US illegally to work are not threats, nor are they trafficking in humans or drugs, commiting crimes draws attention to yourself and increases the chances of being deported.
Illegal immigrants are not eligible for social services so I don’t know why you blame them for problems with the social services. Why not blame the people who steal money from you for social services then underfund the social services come budget time – the government? They are the actual problem, not people who can’t receive the social services.
Your talk of so much shit not being tolerated and blaming it on immigrants just shows that you are intolerant, and want the US to become even more intolerant than it already is to suit you.
