Mass arrests of Falun Gong underway in China

It is rare to see piece like this printed someplace other than in Epoch Times, but here is some “nearly mainstream” coverage that doesn’t ape China’s bull about Falun Gong being a cult unworthy of our sympathy.

The evidence that “secret,” yet ongoing organ harvesting is a very real atrocity is unequivocal. No one has challenged the conclusions of Kilgour and Matas’ Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China, but no one talks much about it either.

Why the recent increase in FLG nabbing? If you read the Report, you won’t quickly rule out the possibility that they are stocking up on body parts for the expected influx of Olympic medical tourists. Slip in a cheap kidney in between a few sports events; you’re neighbors will not even suspect.

Members of the Canadian Falun Gong community and supporters will protest in front of Chinese consulate and Embassies across Canada to call on the international community for their attention and action in the wake of reports of 1878 arrests of Falun Gong practitioners throughout China since January as authorities step up efforts to “stamp out” the practice before the Olympic Games.

In recent weeks reports detail door-to-door searches and arrests inside China. There has also been a reward system put in place offering up to 300-5,000 yuan (roughly USD $60-$360) for identifying Falun Gong practitioners to the authorities. Websites run by the Public security Bureau and other government agencies have openly posted notices calling on citizens to turn in Falun Gong practitioners; rewards have ranged up to 5,000 yuan. According to Amnesty International, Former Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang ordered that the Chinese communist party “must strike hard” to crush Falun Gong and other groups in the context of preparing for a “successful” Olympic Games.
