Summary:

Slowly the strangulation of the Palestinian territories continues as the Israeli government pushes on to push out the Palestinian people.

“Outraged at the killings at the flagship pro-settler religious seminary last week, settlers promised to build new outposts in their memory.”

With the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip at its worst in forty years, and in the wake of the murder of 120+ Palestinians at that hands of Israelis, it seems the conflict continues on its path of Israel doing whatever it takes to rid themselves of the Palestinian population, the U.S. financing the genocide, Palestinians violently attempting to avoid being crushed and the rest of the world standing around and shaking its collective head.

In other words, it’s business as usual.

Israel continues its push for genocide of the Palestinian people

Israel announced it will build about 750 new housing units in a West Bank settlement, throwing a wrench into the peace process just days before a meeting with the U.S. envoy who is to oversee whether Israel and the Palestinian Authority are complying with agreed-upon guidelines to a two-state solution.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat called the Israeli decision “outrageous” and said it was a “humiliation” to Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas.

The announcement comes at a sensitive time: Mr. Abbas is trying to gain support among his people by showing them that the path of negotiations with Israel — not armed resistance — can reap results.

What about the path of civil disobedience? Is that option still open?

It’s hard to sympathize with anyone who uses group directed violence, whatever “side” they claim to be on. Maybe it’s all just a myth that’s been blown out of proportion, but civil disobedience seems to have worked for minorities in the past. People tend to sympathize when they see peaceful protestors who are getting the shit kicked out of them. Just don’t be a dumbass and practice civil disobedience in a dark alley – shame can be a weapon, but it needs witnesses. Lots of cameras tend to help.

There are Jewish groups within Israel that do not agree with the occupation. Every suicide bombing and rocket attack, no matter how weak it may be against Israel, makes their case harder to push. If the Palestinians and Arab Israelis get some serious civil disobedience moving, they might find that they already have more Jewish allies than they thought. If not – it’s easy to go back to violence.

The Israeli Lebanon Water Wars

If the water resources in your country are rapidly decreasing, and the neighbouring country has an intact water supply… and if you think that in the future you will need the other countries water supply… then you will not attack that country saying you need their water. If you attack that country you will do so for another reason, hiding your real objective behind a wall of deception and lies.
