Blood doesn’t have a long enough shelf life to be commoditized. You can’t buy blood from a corporation. It usually is sourced directly from a blood bank, can’t be transported far, and goes bad within a few days even with refrigeration. Often, the hospital itself maintains its own transfusion bank. The hospital I worked at did.

How do you know they don’t have AIDS? There are localized AIDS epidemics in Libya. There are 460,000 people with AIDS in Northern Africa and the Middle East; are you honestly prepared to tell me that none of them are in Libya?

According to UNDP, “Existing data and statistics vary but the latest figures indicate that there are approximately between 2,000 – 7,000 cases of HIV in Libya.” All it takes is a few donors with AIDS to contaminate the blood supply – especially when said donor may have no clue that s/he has AIDS, what it is, how to prevent it, and would never dream of admitting that they had it even if they were aware of it.

2) which organisation supplied the equipment (syringes , tubes , needles , blood bags etc .. etc ..) to collect , store , deliver and administer the blood.

3) where was the blood collected from.ie. who were the donors.

4) why were the donors not screened for aids.

5) if there was no screening , why are there no other diseases showing up in the contaminated blood.why only AIDS.

don’t bother to quote numbers at me , i have been to Africa , mainly the northern half.my dad was building medical labs for various countries out there , including the Libyan government.There were NO cases of AIDS in libya then.not one.nada.zero.

My Brother Spent over a year working in a hospital in West Africa and they were riddled with Aids, among other things there.

Why are you assuming that the Blood was sold? Why are you so against the idea of bad practice being the cause here, it’s not so strange, there was a big problem in Ireland a while back with hemophiliacs who were infected with Hep-C due to infected blood, and I’m just guessing but the lab conditions in Ireland are at least on a par if not better than in Libya. Accidents happen especially when there are poor procedures, no plot by nasty corporations/agencies necessary.

People with anticipated higher than the norm lifetime medical costs/earnings ratios die in disproportionately higher numbers throughout western medicine.
