Britain nearly out of troops says defense chief
A warning memo by General Sir Richard Dannatt, chief of the general staff, to fellow defence chiefs was leaked to the Daily Telegraph.
General Dannatt warned that the army had to “augment” 2,500 troops from other units for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan to bring up the total force to the 13,000 needed. This remained “far higher than we ever assumed,” he said.
The resultant inability of the U.K. to react properly to unforeseen military challenges should be of great interest to terrorists when looking for Western targets.

The head of the army has warned that Britain is almost running out of troops to defend the country or fight in military operations abroad.
The warning by General Sir Richard Dannatt, chief of the general staff, to fellow defence chiefs comes at a time when the army is asking for a big increase in reservists to be deployed in Afghanistan, reflecting a crisis in Britain’s armed forces.
In a secret memorandum he says: “We now have almost no capability to react to the unexpected.” Reinforcements for emergencies or for operations in Iraq or Afghanistan were “now almost non-existent”.

That is to say, Royal Dutch Shell is out of troops.
What an inCREDible band of ciminals. How is it, we might wonder, that Shell has had no problems conducting its technical studies in Southern and Kurdish Iraq since 2005 — when so much “sectarian” kerfuffle has been hitting the fan.
OK OK OK, is every one ready for this?

Together with Turkish enterprises, including Turkey’s state-run oil corporation, a pipeline is to be built taking Iraqi natural gas to the north and then via Turkish ports on to the European market. A meeting of Shell representatives with Turkish and American officials, together with the Turkish enterprises involved, has already taken place.
penDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEjos
Oh but it continues

“We have done all our homework on Iraq,” according to Shell’s executive chairman Jeroen van der Veer in September of last year. “I’m not going to speculate on the time, but we are ready to move.”
Nice find, btw, xiexie. Oops. Is it okay to use pin yin?
Bad news for the Iran war planners. Looks like USreal is on its own.

corporate slavery anyone ?
What utter nonsense. Brits have far and away enough troops to defend their country. In the event of an attack by another army, every citizen would become a de-facto troop…
What he really means is that they don’t have enough citizens willing to go abroad as troops…
I wish these people would stop equating defense with war… It’s starting to irritate me…
Actualy what he really means is that now we have sent our territorial army (national guard) out to foreign lands what happens if the british people rebel ? there would be no troops in der reich left to maintain plutocratic fascism.
luckily the lard stuffed inbred , turnip munching , half-witted monkeys back home have not got the sense to realise this.or to tie their own shoe laces.
ooh Lord , never amongst heathens …
