Summary:

In this letter to the editor, the outcome of a silent protest at the Chinese consulate in Vancouver on April 25 is predicted: the city government will get rid of the protestors, just as it did last year.

As the letter writer says, “Speaking out against torture and human rights abuses is a constitutional right that should be enforced, not diminished.” That should go without saying in a country like Canada. Indeed, one of the most respected Canadian MPs of all time, David Kilgour, is the world’s preeminent disinterested believer of the Falun Gong accusations of Holocaust-like organ harvesting in the P.R.C. You can judge his compiled evidence for yourself at www.organharvestinvestigation.net.

Vancouver mayor to block FLG protest once again

April 25, 1999, marked a turning point in recent Chinese history. On that historic day, more than 10,000 peaceful Falun Gong practitioners turned up at the Zhongnanhai government compound to appeal the beginning of the persecution (of Falun Gong) in China by the Chinese Communist Party. This was undoubtedly the biggest spontaneous public gathering since students assembled on Tiananmen Square in 1989, the outcome of which is well-known by all.

Just as with the Tiananmen protests, the “Zhongnanhai appeal” sounded the alarm and sent shockwaves through the political elite in Beijing. On that fateful day, Jiang Zemin was seen patrolling the area in his big black sedan, hiding behind tinted windows and probably shaking with fear. That same night he wrote a letter to the politburo saying that the Marxists must defeat the Falun Gong.
...
To commemorate this black day, practitioners will hold silent protests in various locations around the world. If you drive by the Chinese consulate in Vancouver, Canada, tomorrow, you will see a miniature reflection of what happened back in 1999. To underscore their request that persecution come to an end, Vancouver practitioners have, for the past few years, maintained a round-the-clock peaceful vigil at the consulate. It…

Glad people are keeping on top of this issue.

The organ harvesting is quite a ghastly claim. I was originally rather wary of the lack of cited sources, so I did some research myself. You can find David Matas and David Kilgour’s report on the subject here. It is quite well written, and puts forth a detailed accusation. Such utter disregard for human life is sickening.

When I went to get my Chinese VISA in Vancouver they were there on vigil, didn’t stay and chat though as I’m sure the Chinese have them watched and I kept thinking how much it would have sucked to not get a visa for talking too long…

It is stunning how little the media is covering this story. Well, it comes from a ‘cult,’ right? No, it comes from David Kilgour who should be an impeccable source.

I have a Google News Alert set for ‘kilgour organ’ and it gets just a few hits per month. This story is being ignored, just as Kilgour predicted it would. In the report, he and Matas compare the FLG accusations to those made against the Nazis regarding extermination camps. Few believed those accusations when they first appeared. There is always the assumption (or fear) that humans would never do such a thing. But they would, as we all know. There was nothing about Germans that resulted in the Holocaust. It is a defect of humans.

Fact:

Zhong Nan Hai is a popular brand of cigarettes in China.

Fact:

I used to smoke them regularly when I first arrived in China.

Fact:

Falungong used to be a very popular tai chi kind of exercise thing that I really dont know that much about.

Fact:

I once talked to a Falungong activist outside the Eaton center in Toronto.

Conclusion:

Toronto is a popular tourist destination for tourists.

Memnoch02 @ 04/26/07 01:32:04

So we should be banning Toronto is your point?

Oh and you forgot to mentiont hat Zhong Nan Hai is so last year…. For all you little kids out there wondering what the new brand to start smoking,Derby’s are the new cool cigarette’s

Not_Uberche @ 04/26/07 05:22:35

Its too late for banning toronto, it has already been in our water supply.

Derby is the new Zhong Nan Hai no doubt, but it doesnt have the illuminati connection to Hu jing tao like the Falun gong Zhong nan hai, infact, the Chinese govt often laments the lack of young high school girls there to sacrifice themselves for a really smooth cigarette.
