Blowup? America's Hidden War With Iran

Jalal Sharafi was carrying a video game, a gift for his daughter, when he found himself surrounded. On that chilly Sunday morning, the second secretary at the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad had driven himself to the commercial district of Arasat Hindi to checkout the site for a new Iranian bank. He had ducked into a nearby electronics store with his bodyguards, and as they emerged four armored cars roared up and disgorged at least 20 gunmen wearing bulletproof vests and Iraqi National Guard uniforms. They flashed official IDs, and manhandled Sharafi into one car. Iraqi police gave chase, guns blazing. They shot up one of the other vehicles, capturing four assailants who by late last week had yet to be publicly identified. Sharafi and the others disappeared.

At the embassy, the diplomat’s colleagues were furious. “This was a group directly under American supervision,” said one distraught Iranian official, who was not authorized to speak on the record. Abdul Karim Inizi, a former Iraqi Security minister close to the Iranians, pointed the finger at an Iraqi black-ops unit based out at the Baghdad airport, who answer to American Special Forces officers. “It’s plausible,” says a senior Coalition adviser who is also not…

Pentagon policy is to use a cruise missle when a sniper’s bullet would do the job better. Overkill is policy. Basically, the cruise missle means more schekles for the defence contractors than the single bullet would.

I believe the U.S. intentionally facilitated Atta’s crews’ 9/11 attacks in various ways, not carried out the attacks itself. If the U.S. had carried out the attacks itself, wouldn’t it initiate an attack against itself now with Iranian fingerprints all over it in order to generate the same kind of unanimous approval it received to attack Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan shortly after 9/11? Doesn’t the U.S. have a choice now: Either do it the way it did against Iraq, with shaky proofs, or do it the way it did with Afghanistan, in the wake of a 9/11? Shouldn’t we at least expect a Tonkin Gulf or a Maine right about now?

WWIII is very possibly enroute.
although the vast majority of americans disapprove, their leaders; their representatives stoke the war machine. and the big decisions most americans make (present parties excluded): what to watch on tv.

i have friends who are syrian, egyptian, iraqi, persian & iranian. with them, its all about family & religion. that’s it. wrong one and the ripple effect is tremendous.

as americans leaders continue whack at various hornet’s nests around the world and make more an more enemies, the american people need to discover that their own ‘leaders’ are their real enemies and they need to GET THEM OUT.

which leads me to think of a well-known saying in canada:
‘how can you tell the difference between a canadian traveller and an american traveller? a canadian traveller has a small canadian flag on their backpack. an american traveller has a big canadian flag on their backpack.”

sadly, even canadians are afraid to travel abroad, afraid of running into an orphan/victim/american enemy, blinded with revenge…
cuz there are plenty out there…

War On Iran—It’s Not About Democracy: As I write, indications are that there are US Special Forces engaged in operations in Iran. Rumors name the province of Khuzestan as the locale for these operations. They are probably being helped by various exiles who are either current or former members of organizations that believe the ends justify the means and are therefore willing to help the enemy in Washington to overthrow the mullahs.

i keep hearing people say “second carrier” instead of third. i think i heard Amy Goodman say it during the brief headlines she rattles through at the beginning of each show, and now this:

American armada prepares to attack Iran: The addition of a second aircraft carrier to its strike groups has fuelled the belief that America is gearing up for a fight with Iran. Not since the Iraq war in 2003 has America amassed so much fire power around the Gulf.
