
Google has told developers of the Google Glass that they will not allow facial recognition programs to be distributed on its network. This is only a suggestion, however. Side-loading applications on the platform (that is installing applications without the Google distribution system) is not only doable, but also promoted by Google. A recent conference called “Voiding Your Warranty: Hacking Glass” tells developers and power users exactly how to load in programs that are not on the Google network.
