Violence in Iraq has been surging since the U.S. military drawn down. U.N. leader Ban Ki-moon has expressed concerns over the fact that violence has been on the rise in Iraq. A statement released by Ki-moon’s office says “The Secretary-General welcomes the successful meeting between the representatives of the demonstrators, local officials and the Iraqi Security Forces which has defused tensions in Ramadi, Anbar Governorate”.
